Happy 2006!
Just a quick note to wish a Happy New Year to all my friends, relatives and anyone reading my blog. When the new year comes, usually people look back at the past year and reflect on what's happened, if it was a good year or a bad year, and then set goals for the coming year. I've never done that. I am not someone who takes the time and thinks about the past or the future. I am more of a "enjoy life one day at a time" kind of guy. I rarely make plans, and so much has happened in the last few years that I really see no point in making any plan at all. I never thought I would be working and living in China. I never thought I would marry a Taiwanese-South African woman. I never thought I would produce an Internet Radio show...
However, things are changing. This new year will mark the start of a new phase in our lives, one that requires a little more time and effort from us. It will be a harder time but will also bring joy. It will be very different from our married life so far. We've been able to enjoy each other's company, travelling, shopping, sitting in our apartment. In other words we had a lot of fun. We have a very comfortable life here, practically without worries, we have been blessed by God ever since we met each other. And now God has given us the greatest gift of all. If you still haven't figured it out by now, we are expecting a baby in May.
I hadn't planned on announcing it in this post, but that's what my thoughts brought me to. In fact, this is what I think of any time of the day!! That's right, little Tai (or Taiello..) will join us in May, and will completely alter our life. I am both ecstatic and scared. I will be posting about this pretty often in the next few months (hoping not to bore you). For now let me conclude by again wishing you a Happy 2006!!
