This post by my friend Amanda let me think of the many international friends I have, to which I had to say goodbye after only a year or two from meeting them. First of all I had to say goodbye to my friends in Italy, which I miss dearly. I then made friends in UK (Amanda is one of them). And now that I am faily stable here in Shanghai, I see people leaving every year. These friends are mainly from US, and not all of them come here long term. So every year me and my wife stay here, while friends around us move on with their lives. I feel selfishly sad, because I cannot enjoy the company of these friends. But I know that it is best for them to leave and go back to their family/country. And knowing that makes it so much harder. This is one of the main reasons why I wanted to start this website. To try and share my life with my friends and family around the world, to keep them updated on what is happening in my life. I could write e-mails - and I still do - but those e-mails get lost. With this website I am recording my life, so that everyone can read/listen to any moment in my life, any time they want. And I am also thrilled to visit and read other's websites, like Amanda's and all my other friends. So if you don't have a website yet, think about it. I promise that I will read every word you write. Also I encourage you to send me feedback: e-mail, comments, audio... anything you want. And thank you for reading.
